SCOTRAIL has warned travellers heading across the Scotland-England Border to expect cancellation or delays.
It comes after a reported fault with the signalling system on the line between Gretna Green and Carlisle.
Trains are currently unable to run on both the West Coast Main Line and the Carlisle-Dumfries line ScotRail said that though the lines are currently closed, Network Rail staff are on site investigating.
Network Rail owns and maintains the railway infrastructure across Great Britain, including Scotland, while ScotRail is the primary train service operator north of the Border.
We're dealing with a signal fault at Gretna, north of Carlisle. It's preventing trains running on the West Coast Main Line, and the Carlisle-Dumfries line. Our engineers have arrived, and they're working to find and fix the fault ASAP. @AvantiWestCoast @TPExpressTrains @ScotRail pic.twitter.com/Iom85WxHWr
