Motorists are being warned that stretches of the A71 in Ayrshire will be closed this weekend.
A programme of works described as essential is being carried out this Saturday and Sunday between the Corsehill roundabout at the North Ayrshire boundary and busy Bellfield Interchange.
Road maintenance including grass cutting is on the agenda as Ayrshire Roads Alliance (ARA) staff get to work.
However, the project does mean daytime closures of stretches of the A71 will be required.
On Saturday, both carriageways from Corsehill roundabout to Moorfield roundabout and vice versa will be out of action from 5am to 6pm.
Diversions will be in place via the villages of Springside and Crosshouse on the B7081.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, the route will be closed from Moorfield roundabout to the Bellfield interchange and vice versa between 5am and 6pm again. Diversions will also be in place.
The ARA say emergency access will be maintained during the road closures and through the works site.
