Disqualified driver crashes £60k Audi into car and bush after fleeing police

A £60k Audi crashed into a car and bush after evading police.

The Audi RS4 failed to stop for police in Sefton yesterday and during the police pursuit that followed crashed into a car and then a hedge. When officers arrested the driver it was discovered he was already disqualified.

A drugs wipe also showed he was positive for cannabis and cocaine. Roads Policing Unit for Merseyside Police took to Twitter to share the news they had taken the driver off the roads.

The tweet said: "This RS4 failed to stop for Police earlier in Sefton. During the pursuit the driver collided with another motorist and later crashed into a hedge. The driver was arrested, he was already disqualified and to make matters worse he tested positive for cannabis & cocaine on a drugs wipe."

People were quick to share their thoughts on the arrest, with people relieved now the driver is no longer behind the wheel. One person tweeted: "Hopefully now in a holding cell awaiting his transfer to court and then onto jail."

Another person wrote: "Frightening. Great police work."

One Twitter user called on the courts to do a good job going forward: "Out of interest, what was the ******* doing in the car in the first place, was it stolen? Glad you stopped him, hopefully before doing too much damage and injuries to others.

"Let's hope the courts do their bit! Keep up the good work."
