Disneyland ticket prices soar with a day's entry costing up to £870 for a family of four

Ticket prices for Disney 's Californian parks have risen once again with the most expensive day ticket option now costing more than £160.

On Tuesday, the cost of entry to one of its Anaheim theme parks - Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park - rose by 8% on average, bringing the cheapest single-day entry to £93.

That means a family of four heading to Disneyland in the states will fork out close to £400 just to get in on an off-peak day.

Four high season tickets with the £58 park hopper add-on could now set families back £872 in some cases.

In dollar terms, the cost of the most expensive ticket has risen from $124 in 2017 to $179 now, an increase of 44%.

Brits in the US could be hit hard by the price rises due to the current low state of the pound, which has slumped to $1 now costing 90p.

The rising cost of entry has not been welcomed by all Disney fans.

MiceChat blogger Todd Regan, who writes under the name Dusty Sage, told Silicon Valley : “In just 10 years, the cost of a ticket to Disneyland has essentially doubled.

“What was $87 in 2012 can now cost as much as $179 in 2022. But through some sort of magic, the parks only get busier as the price goes up.”

In an official statement, Disneyland officials said they were making continual investments in the parks, including the new Avengers Campus and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which is expected to open in January.

"Disneyland Resort is always planning the next new idea, attraction, and story," a Disneyland spokesperson said in a statement. "We are so excited to share all the fun in store as the heart of the Disney 100 Years of Wonder anniversary celebration during 2023. Our tiered ticketing structure offers guests different options to experience that magic throughout the year, including our lowest price point – which hasn't changed since 2019."
