West Side Story - March 2
This is one of the big film releases of the year and the wait is finally over. This new version of classic musical, West Side Story is directed by the movie legend Steven Spielberg and tells the classic tale of fierce rivalries and young love in 1957 New York City.
Starring Ansel Elgort as Tony and introducing Rachel Zegler as Maria. It's bursting with energy, colour, music and passion.
Turning Red – March 11
*NEW PIXAR KLAXON*
Does your family feel ready to move on from watching Encanto yet? If you're ready to take the next steps and try a different Disney movie then good news is coming on March 11 as Disney and Pixar release the incredible, Turning Red.
Introducing Mei Lee a confident (but slightly dorky) 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Her protective, if not slightly overbearing, mother Ming (voiced by Killing Eve's Sandra Oh), is never far from her daughter's side (annoying for Mei Lee).
And, as she begins to go through the changes of growing up, whenever she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS), she “poofs” into a giant red panda. We've all been there - actually, wait what?
Embrace the Panda: Making Turning Red – March 11
And then if you enjoyed the movie so much but spent most if in awe going: "How have they made this beautiful piece of work?" Then Embrace the Panda: Making Turning Red is the documentary for you.
It's about the all-women team at the helm of the Pixar original feature, with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews. We can't wait.
Cheaper by the Dozen – March 18
Cheaper by the Dozen is a is new take on the 2003 hit family comedy. It is the story of the raucous exploits of a blended family of 12, the Bakers, as they navigate a hectic home life while simultaneously managing their family business.
Cute kids, jokes for the adults. It looks at all round winner for a family movie-night in.
More Than Robots – March 18
More Than Robots follows four teams of teenagers from around the world as they prepare for the 2020 FIRST Robotics Competition. If you're into robots, or you live with someone who is into robots then this is top-tier TV.
Dedicated teams from Los Angeles, Mexico City and Japan work towards the goal of taking their unique designs all the way to the highly competitive global championships. At the heart of it, it's about robots.
But, as the name suggests, it's about more than robots. There's a lot of heart in this documentary. No you're crying at a documentary about robots.
Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u – March 25
"I wanted to tell people what was going on in a way that was proud and not ashamed," says Olivia Rodrigio in the trailer for this new film in which the Grammy nominated singer-songwriter takes a familiar road trip from Salt Lake City, where she began writing her debut album “SOUR,” to Los Angeles.
She's just 19 years old, so how many memories can she possibly have yet? Well, enough for a movie, that's for sure.
Rodrigo travels along, recounting the memories of writing and creating her record-breaking debut album. She shares her feelings as a young woman navigating a specific time in her life and we see never-before-seen footage from the making of the album.
A must-watch for all the Rodrigo...err...Hot Rods? Rodrihoes? Olivianators? Sour Patch Kids? Oh well, whatever the fandom name is, we are definitely that.
