A Disney+ show which earned a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score for its first season has returned for another instalment. Single Drunk Female was scored 96 percent by critics on the review website.
Gossip Girl and Skins US actress Sofia Black-D'Elia stars in the series, which premiered last January. Leslye Headland, co-creator of Netflix hit Russian Doll, is director and producer.
The 10-episode drama is centred on Samantha Fink, a 20-something journalist with a drinking problem. After a string of embarrassing, alcohol-driven mistakes, she is left with no choice but to sober up - or face jail.

She moves from New York to Boston to live with her overbearing mother Carol and clean up her act. Swapping the world of media for a job at a grocery store, Samantha decides to become her best self - but it's never as easy as it seems.
One Rotten Tomatoes critics wrote: "Brings critical thought, breezily shaped, to the phenomenon of alcoholism among young women, without hardening into preachiness." Another commended: "It’s a show that has most to say at the very point when other shows lose interest" while one said: "A series that blends humor with a raw and honest look at addiction."
Ally Sheedy, Rebecca Henderson, Sasha Compère, Lily Mae Harrington and Garrick Bernard make up the cast. And now the show, which was written and created by Simone Finch, is back for a second season.
After 18 months of sobriety, Samantha is content with her life. But she is soon forced to dig deeper into her discomfort and implement even more changes. Cougar Town's Busy Phillips and The King of Staten Island's Ricky Velez join the cast for season two, while Molly Ringwald will guest star as Carol’s sister-in-law Alice.
Fans who've already binged the second season took to Twitter to share their thoughts. @RealMerrinD tweete: "I’ve said it before and I will say it again. #singledrunkfemale is a goddamned treasure of a show. Everyone involved is excellent. Watch and enjoy. You’re welcome."
@invsblesmoke said: "SINGLE DRUNK FEMALE is my new fav show" and @drocks27 added: "Single Drunk Female is so good. The story telling is amazing and so is the acting."
Both seasons of Single Drunk Female are available to stream now on Disney+.
