Taking place between April 25 and 27, 2023, CinemaCon is the place for global cinema owners to experience the latest advances in theatre equipment, as well as hear from major entertainment brands on what’s coming up in film.
As one of the biggest entertainment companies in the business, Disney’s showcase in Las Vegas was highly anticipated, featuring clips and details relating to a number of high-profle releases.
Here’s a summary of everything that was teased, announced, and previewed during Disney’s showcase at CinemaCon 2023.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Disney premiered a new clip of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, featuring Harrison Ford’s Indy and Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Helena chasing villain Mads Mikkelsen's Jürgen Voller in an action-packed car chase.
This comes a few weeks ahead of the film’s release date on June 30, 2023.
Elemental
In a much longer clip, Disney debuted a 20-minute early look at Elemental, an animated film due for release on June 16.
The movie will explore the apparent differences between the fictional fire, water, land, and air residents of Element City, starring Leah Lewis as main character firey Ember Lumen, and Mamoudou Athie as water resident Wade.
Wish
Next up was the announcement of Chris Pine as the lead in Wish.
The Dungeons and Dragons star will play King Magnifico, as shown in a new clip presented from the film.
According to IGN, the clip follows Ariana DeBose's Asha running through the woods and a village on an island setting off the coast of Iberia.
With an ongoing theme of wishing upon stars and a plot that is meant to celebrate “the legacy of Walt Disney's vision”, Wish is set to be released on November 22.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
An extended version of the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer was also shown, featuring the Space gang in colourful suits, with their signature irreverent humour.
The next MCU movie is due for release on May 3.
The Little Mermaid
The live-action remake of The Little Mermaid also held a prime spot in the showcase, with a fresh look at Melissa McCarthy's Ursula performing the popular song Poor Unfortunate Souls.
This movie is set to release on May 26.
Haunted Mansion
A teaser clip from Haunted Mansion, a movie telling the story of (you guessed it) a large house populated by ghosts, saw Owen Wilson's Kent breaking a sconce and LaKeith Stanfield's Ben Matthias opening up a secret passageway.
This comedic take on the haunted house genre will be released on August 11.
A Haunting in Venice
Kenneth Branagh is set to direct and star in an adaptation of a classic Agatha Christie novel called Hallowe'en Party, reprising his role as Hercule Poirot.

Starring Eternal's Gemma Chan, the movie will be available to watch in cinemas from September 29.
Next Goal
Finally, Taika Waititi's Next Goal tells the story of the American Samoa soccer team, known for its 31-0 FIFA loss in 2001.
