Disha Patani says she broke her knee before shooting for Bharat song Slow Motion

Disha Patani stars with Salman Khan in Bharat.

Actor Disha Patani, who pulled off some daring stunts in her song Slow Motion from Bharat, says she was on a week’s bed rest before shooting for it. Disha told Mumbai Mirror in an interview that she broke her knee while rehearsing for the song.

“I remember breaking my knee while rehearsing. I was also practising gymnastics simultaneously. You must have seen the front flip and other stunts in the song. I was actually over training and broke my knee a week prior to the shoot,” she said. “I couldn’t walk and was literally on the bed before the shoot started. It was really hard for me. After every take, I had to use a cold press, which hurt a lot. But I am happy to see the result and feel that everything was worth it,” she added.

Disha shares the screen with the film’s lead Salman Khan in the song. They play two circus artistes from the 1960s in the film. While she is a trapeze artist, he plays a daredevil who performs stunts on the wall of death. Talking about the song, Disha said, “It was amazing. One of the best experiences for sure. It was very hard because we were only shooting at night during the schedule. It was hard work for sure, I won’t deny it. But I enjoyed a lot. It’s a peppy massy number and I love these kind of songs.”

She also talked about working with Salman for the first time. “Salman Khan is such a sweet person. I never felt intimidated because he makes everyone comfortable and is extremely helpful and co-operative. There’s so much to learn from him. At this stage also, he is so hard working and gives his 100 per cent to each take. I am fortunate to get this opportunity and be a part of such a big ensemble,” she said.

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat is an official adaptation of the 2014 South Korean movie Ode To My Father and also stars Katrina Kaif. Salman is teaming up with Zafar for the third time after Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. The film is scheduled to release on June 5, this year.
