Two people have been arrested after an alleged serious assault in East Kilbride.
The alleged incident took place in the town’s Montgomery Street in the early evening of Friday (April 29).
A 50-year-old man was taken to hospital by paramedics with serious injuries.
Lanarskhire Live understands that following the incident, emergency services attended before “door to door” enquiries were carried out by police.
Police have now confirmed a 30-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman have been charged in connection with the alleged incident.
Detective Sergeant Clare Curley, from Lanarkshire CID, said: “Around 5.45pm on Friday, 29 April, officers were called to the Montgomery Street area of East Kilbride, following a report of a serious assault. The victim, a 50-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
“A 30-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. They are expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, 2 May.”
