A shopper was left disgusted after she bought a cucumber from Lidl - and discovered a dead FROG squashed inside.
The horrified vegan had bought the vegetable along with lots of fruit to make a smoothie drink.
But she was left feeling queasy when she noticed a little yellow frog flattened to the side of the 45p cucumber, trapped underneath the plastic wrapping.
She told staff, who let her swap it for an uncontaminated cucumber, but said she has been put off smoothies for good.
The shopper from Leicester said: "It has made me feel sick for days.
"I'm vegan so it couldn't have happened to a worse person. I'm a massive animal lover.
"You expect to see little bugs or flies on vegetables you buy, but not a whole squashed frog!
"It was really disgusting.
"I'm really glad I spotted it before I put it in my smoothie or before I got home."
She bought the cucumber from the discount store on Upperton Road, in Leicester, on Monday evening, as part of her weekly vegetable shop.
The frog went unnoticed when she picked it up and popped it in her trolley, and also when it was scanned by the shop assistant.
But when she was walking out of the supermarket she looked down into her open bag in her trolley, and spotted the squished frog.
She swapped the vegetable but later alerted Lidl to what had happened on Twitter.
Lidl apologised and asked her to speak to the customer service team.
