'Disgraceful' - David de Gea fumes after Everton beat Manchester United

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has slammed his team's performance after Everton secured a crucial 1-0 victory against the Red Devils at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Few had given the Blues a chance of getting a result against Ralf Rangnick's side after suffering a hugely disappointing midweek defeat to Burnley, but a first half goal from Anthony Gordon proved good enough to earn the Toffees a priceless three points, moving them away from the relegation zone, for now at least.

But if Everton were joyous in victory the exact opposite can be said of United's players and their glovesman De Gea in particular.

Speaking to the BBC after the match, he said: "It is a disgrace from us, we should be winning this game. We don’t score but we don’t create proper chances to score. We are not good enough, that is for sure. It will be difficult to be in the top four. They played Wednesday and they were tired but they had more desire than us, that is not acceptable. Very sad to lose today."

Everton a now once again four points ahead of Burnley, who play rock-bottom Norwich City at Carrow Road tomorrow. Defeat for United leaves them languishing in seventh, three points adrift of the Champions League qualification places.
