Rolf Harris has died at the age of 93, Maidenhead Town Hall has confirmed.
Harris was said to be 'gravely ill' and in receipt of 24 hour care from nurses and carers before his death. Friends and neighbours of Harris also revealed that he could barely eat or talk back in October 2022.
His death was confirmed by a registrar at Maidenhead Town Hall to the PA news agency.
The Australian TV presenter was once a family favourite for his on-screen antics - however, he became disgraced in 2014 when he was jailed for a string of indecent assaults on youngsters.
For his crimes, Harris was handed a custodial sentence of five years and nine months, after he was found guilty and convicted of 12 assaults spanning almost two decades, between 1968 and 1986. In May 2017, he was formally cleared of four unconnected historical sex offences - which had been denied by him.
The PA News Agency reports that later the same year, one of the 12 indecent assault convictions was also overturned by the Court of Appeal. After serving less than three years of his sentence, Harris was released from HMP Stafford on licence on May 19, 2017.
In light of his conviction, Harris saw his 2012 Bafta fellowship stripped, as well as his CBE. He also saw Australian honours taken away.
Harris was bestowed the honour of MBE in the 1960s, OBE a decade later, and a CBE in 2006 - a year after he painted Queen Elizabeth II's 80th birthday portrait.
