People living near a recycling centre that caught fire have expressed disbelief at another fire happening on its industrial site, with it being the fourth fire there in around a year.
A huge fire broke out at Nottingham Recycling on Abbeyfield Road, Lenton, on Monday (January 31).
Plumes of smoke could be seen from miles around, and the A52 was closed at one point, causing travel chaos.
An asbestos warning was also issued.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue were called to the blaze at 1.30pm, where 12 fire engines worked to bring the fire under control, with four having remained on site through to Tuesday (February 1).
And residents living in Dunkirk, near to the industrial site where the fire occurred, could not believe another fire had happened at the industrial site.
Michael Greener, 26, who lives on Dunkirk Road, said: "I wasn't in the house, but I was nearby and saw a number of fire engines, and I remember thinking I hope it doesn't go across the A52.
"Once for it to happen nearby is interesting as to why, but you really do not want it happening again."
Lauren Birks, 20, a student who lives on Dunkirk Road, said: "It's obviously not good, and it would be nice if we were informed as to what was going on.
"A friend sent a photo to me of the blaze and that's how I found out what was going on.
"Other people have breathing issues, and people could struggle with that, and there's a park nearby where kids play."
Theo Elsegood, 19, a University of Nottingham student who lives on Claude Street, said: "We saw the smoke as we were going on a shopping trip at around 5.30pm, and we got caught in the traffic.
"We had to go all the way round to get to Lidl in Castle Marina - it took us 30 minutes to get there and 45 minutes to get back."
One resident who lives on Dunkirk Road, but did not wish to be named, said: "We never really get told what's happening or why.
"Having said that, we've not had the wind blowing this way, so it hasn't really affected us too much."
Nottingham Recycling, which mainly deals with cardboard, said none of its employees had been caught in the fire, and added a full investigation into its cause would be carried out.
As the blaze was tackled, a spokesperson said: "The Fire Service attended very quickly and have worked tirelessly since then to tackle the fire.
"Thankfully there have been no injuries caused by the fire.
"A total of 11 people are employed at the facility, all of whom have been accounted for and are being looked after.
