A driver has been slammed for parking on a double yellow line in front of a dropped kerb, which completely blocked a disabled woman's driveway.
The resident has been left furious after a BMW driver parked on the dropped kerb of her house - blocking the exit completely, report Coventry Live.
Linda Smith, who is disabled, was angry to find that she was unable to reverse her vehicle out of her home, forcing her to miss a hospital appointment.
The Coventry resident says she has even placed a clear sign on her gate which says 'disabled access', in order to deter drivers from parking in front of her property.
However, this has not deterred drivers from doing so, with Linda adding that the parking situation is becoming an "ongoing problem".
Speaking about the issue, Linda said: "We have a drop kerb, double yellow lines and a sign on the gate that says disable access at all times. But cars park on the road and outside the gate which has prevented us from getting out of the drive.
"The cars on the pavement stop you from passing through as well. The poor guy up the road we see most days cannot get past in his disabled bike."
Linda added: "We were lucky yesterday as kind people helped us. One lady even shook the car to try and get their alarm to go off so the driver could come and move his car off.
"I feel sorry for the disabled and the mothers with pushchairs trying to get down the pavement."
Following the latest incident at Wheelwright Lane in Rowley's Green, Linda decided that she would post a photo of the parked BMW on Facebook.
The image garnered a reaction from a lot of angry commenters, with one advising that she should have called the police on the driver, saying: "You should have phoned the police as it blocked your drive."
Another person added: "Selfish buggers."
While a third commented: "BMW drivers, they own the road with Audi drivers."
This is not the first time Coventry residents have hit out about inconsiderate parking.
Previously, resident Hayden Laverick shared a photo of cars parked across the footpath along Rotherham Road in Holbrooks, hitting out at the "inconsiderate" actions of drivers.
What are the rules for parking on the pavement?
The Highway Code rule 244 states that drivers outside London 'should not' park on the pavement, rather than 'must not', which means it is only advice that is not backed up by any legislation.
However, it is illegal to drive on the pavement but this is difficult for police to enforce - unless they actually see the driver driving on to a public footpath. for police to enforce.
If officers do not see this in action, they have no direct proof that the car was driven on the pavement.
In theory, the car could have been lifted into place.
Outside London, it is the responsibility of local councils to clamp down on pavement parkers - and they do have the power to impose a fine.
