  • DirecTV is launching a sports-focused streaming package days after Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery cancelled plans to launch Venu Sports. The offering is available starting Tuesday with a debut price of $50 per month after a free trial.

Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery might have thrown in the towel on Venu Sports, their joint sports streaming service, but DirecTV is betting sports fans might still want a service tailored to them. The satellite company has announced plans to launch MySports, a smaller streaming bundle that focuses on the playing field.

MySports will include content from the National Basketball Association, National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League and college sports. All totaled, the package will include access to 40 sports and broadcast channels, while trimming channels that do not carry sports programming, such as Lifetime, Discovery and Disney Channel.

Debuting in 24 markets today, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, and the San Francisco Bay Area, it’s expected to expand into other markets as DirecTV adds more local stations to the package.

MySports will come with a five-day free trial period, after which it will cost $50 per month for the first three months, at which time the price will jump to $70 per month.

National sports channels available through MySports include ACC Network, Big Ten Network, DIRECTV 4K Live, DIRECTV 4K Live 2, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews, ESPNU, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, Golf Channel, MLB Network, NBA TV, NFL Network, NHL Network, SEC Network, TBS, TNT, TruTV and USA Network—as well as any local channels owned and operated by ABC, FOX, and NBC. Additional channels will be offered soon, the company says.

Subscribers will also have access to ACC Digital Network, Big 12, Fight Network, Fuel TV, Origin Sports, Pickleball TV, Players TV, Sports Grid, Stadium Stream, Surfer TV, Swerve Combat, T2, The Jim Rome Show, TNA, Torque by History, Waypoint TV and Women's Sports Network.
