Dipo Akinyemi insists he'll block out the noise over a potential transfer to give his all at Ayr United.
And 18-goal Akinyemi - whose double helped Ayr overcome a huge Scottish Cup scare against Elgin - is adamant his head won't be turned.
He said: "For me it's gone now and January is done. My focus is on playing and scoring goals.
"This is football - some people get the move they want and some people don't.
"I'm here in an Ayr United shirt and I'm here to play.
"I will be next week and the week after that and until the end of the season and then we'll see from there.
"But as long as I'm wearing this shirt I'll give my heart and soul for it.
"If I keep scoring goals and playing well for the boys, whatever happens will happen.
"I will keep working my socks off and when the bridge comes we'll cross it."
Akinyemi's extra time double put the gloss on an Ayr win which for so long had headed towards defeat.
Kane Hester fired Elgin into a deserved first half lead after Jake Dolzanski and Owen Cairns had gone close.
Ayr laboured for long spells with Akinyemi isolated up front on his own and keeper Aidan McAdams kept them in it.
But the introduction of Daire O'Connor helped turn the tie as the Irish winger went on to set up three goals.
Sub Fraser Bryden forced extra time with a last minute strike before Elgin crumbled.
Akinyemi then won a penalty which Ben Dempsey converted before the big striker fired a double to finish City off.
Ayr now await their fate in tonight's quarter-final draw.
Akinyemi added: "We made it hard for ourselves but we're through to the next round and that's cup football.
"You have to earn everything and they made us work, they were never coming here to lie down.
"We just have to put the game to bed quickly and move on now because we have a big game against Partick in the league next week."
