Johnson has been suspended for “refusing to enter our game against the Philadelphia Eagles.”
“We have made the difficult decision to suspend Diontae Johnson for our upcoming game against the New York Giants for conduct detrimental to the team,” Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said in a statement. “We will have no further comments on this matter going forward.”
The Ravens (8-5) are on a bye in Week 14 before returning to action in Week 15 against the New York Giants.
This explains why Johnson did not record a snap in Sunday’s 24-19 loss to the Eagles, especially after Rashod Bateman was injured and replaced with Tylan Wallace.
Johnson has been a nonfactor for the Ravens since being traded from the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 29. Johnson has only one catch for six yards in five games with the Ravens.
Johnson was the Panthers leading receiver before the trade, catching 30 passes for 357 yards and three touchdowns.
Baltimore traded a fifth-round draft pick to the Panthers for Johnson and a sixth-round pick. Carolina also paid most of Johnson’s salary, with the Ravens only owing him about $625,000.
If the Ravens keep Johnson on their roster the rest of the season and he signs with another team in free agency, Baltimore will receive a compensatory pick in the 2026 draft. If Baltimore cuts Johnson now, they will not receive a compensatory pick.

The Ravens are currently the sixth seed in the AFC Playoff Picture.
Barring a collapse from the Steelers, the Ravens will likely be a wild card team, meaning they will play on the road in the first round.
If the season ended today, Baltimore would play the Steelers on Wild Card Weekend.
