Diogo Jota vows to make Jude Bellingham transfer demand to Liverpool chiefs

Diogo Jota has jokingly claimed he will ask if Liverpool can they can sign Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

The England international has emerged as one of the best midfielders in world football since his £25m move from Birmingham City.

Bellingham is widely-regarded as one of the best young talents on show right now.

And that has earned him an eye-catching Future Stars card on FIFA Ultimate Team, with EA Sports handing him a rating of 93.

Liverpool star Jota is a keen player of the game, and understandably had to get Bellingham into his team for the recent Weekend League.

So while streaming on Twitch, the Portugal forward joked that he would have to have a word with Jurgen Klopp about signing Bellingham after he was so impressed by his FIFA card.

“On Tuesday I’m going to say, ‘we need to sign Bellingham’, so I can use his Future Stars card,” he said on air followed by a chuckle.

One player who Klopp might be more concerned about is star man Mohamed Salah, who is set to return for the Reds soon after the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Having fallen at the final hurdle to Senegal, Egypt captain Salah should be back in action in the not too distant future.

His return is likely to further conversations about whether he will sign a contract extension on his deal which runs out in 2023.

Liverpool are hesitant to match Salah's high demands, given that he will be 30 by the start of next season.

But Roy Keane insists that the Reds need to hand him a new deal sooner rather than later.

"He’s 29 but the modern player, they’re machines I don’t think it’s no issue. From Liverpool’s point of view it’s business they’ve got to try and negotiate," the pundit told ITV.

"You’ve got to get him signed on, he’s one of the greatest players in the world, you’ve got to get it done. If it goes into next season you really start to worry but try and get it done and dusted.

"They might not have a choice, it’s up to the player, the player’s in charge he said he’s happy and he’s obviously going to try and negotiate a bit of steel but he’s going to to get a lot of money anyway.

"It might be does he want a new experience. But he’s said a number of times he’s happy here he’s loved here but Liverpool have got to try and get him signed you can’t just let players like that go out of the door, particularly on a free."
