Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has shared Jurgen Klopp's 'mission' that helped his side fight back in the title race and close the gap on rivals Manchester City.
The Reds sit just one point behind the Manchester club in the table, but it remains in City's hands. Earlier in the season, however, Liverpool faced falling 12 points behind. Since Brentford at home, they've been on an incredible run that's seen them win 10 league games in a row with one draw.
Having reduced the deficit and ensured the title race goes into the closing weeks of the season, Jota has revealed the talk from Jurgen Klopp ahead of the 3-0 win over Thomas Frank's side at Anfield that pushed them to get back in the running.

"We always want to win, but December is always a tough period when you play loads of games," he told liverpoolfc.com. "Sometimes you don’t have enough time to rest, and we had some injuries as well, some sent off. It’s a hard period. You need to survive, of course. City got a little bit of an advantage in those periods, but then regroup and go again.
"I remember Jürgen said that we were going on a mission to win every single game. At the time, I think it was [the] Brentford game, so we just grabbed three [points] after three after three. That’s what makes us close to the first place at this moment.
"Now, we need to wait for them to drop points again. We need to do our job, so that’s what we need to be focused on, because it is not easy to win seven Premier League games in a row."
Liverpool remain in contention for the three remaining trophies this season. An FA Cup final against Chelsea awaits next month, while a Champions League semi-final tie with Villarreal is on the horizon. While the Reds will need little motivation to go on and potentially win an unprecedented quadruple, having Klopp lead the way makes a huge difference.
Jota added: "That’s what it means to have a world-class manager, like him. You can count on him to put you back on track and to say the right things at the right times. We know that we have not just the manager, but a squad that can do whatever he wants us to do. We will just push this last month-and-a-half to go for everything. I think we are able to do that."
