Diogo Jota admitted he wasn't aware of Liverpool drawing Manchester City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup after he scored the only goal in the game as the Reds beat Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the quarter-finals of the prestigious competition.
The Portuguese international had to wait until deep into the second half to break the deadlock for the Liverpool after a spirited display from Steve Cooper's Championship side. Jota initially looked to be offside, but a VAR review meant the goal stood and the Reds progressed.
Liverpool will take on their Premier League title-chasing rivals a week after they come to blows at the Etihad Stadium in league action. The month of April will also contain two Champions League quarter-finals for both the Reds and City.

"I didn’t know. Okay, another tough game and we have a lot of those until the end of the season. But like you said, there are a lot of games before that so, let's focus on the next one after the break," said Jota.
Jota thought his side deserved to win: "Yeah, obviously it was a tough game, they are a great team, they play with a lot of intensity, they gave us a proper fight, but in the end I think we deserved to go through. They have one big chance from the cross, they gave us a really big challenge here tonight, their fans were outstanding. It was a really tough game but we are now into the semi final.
VAR intervened when Jota put the ball in the net and, initially, he looked to be offside, but the review showed that Liverpool's number 20 was on side: "Yeah I thought it was tight, I always trust myself to be onside, but you never know."
