Diogo Dalot says he is “delighted” to see Marcus Rashford’s uptick in form.
The striker looked bereft of confidence last term and, after a good pre-season, it looked like he was set for another troubling campaign following the losses to Brighton and Brentford. But the England international has produced a turnaround since.
Rashford has netted key goals against Liverpool and Arsenal to take his tally to three in six games, also chipping in with two assists. He has played as a centre-forward in recent weeks, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo with Anthony Martial sidelined.

His form has prompted debate among some fans around whether Erik ten Hag will drop Rashford for Martial upon his return. Dalot says he is pleased to see the attacker rediscover his form, hailing him with superlatives about his character.
“I’ve known Rashford for four, five years now and he’s an absolutely fantastic kid,” he told in-house media. “Very good human being, which is for me the first big standard.
“And then as a player he is fantastic. We are so delighted for him to be scoring goals, to assist, to have an impact on this team, and I think every Man United fan wants Rashford to have success for us.”
Rashford’s good run may see him called up for this month’s England internationals, having not played since the final of Euro 2020. Sancho will hope to make the cut too after netting twice this campaign, his most recent Three Lions appearance coming last October.
