Diners at Gino D’Acampo’s Italian restaurant - Luciano in Alderley Edge - were evacuated after a fire broke out. Crews from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Wilmslow Road eatery at 6.21pm this evening (Saturday).
The restaurant was cleared of guests after the blaze - in the ceiling void of the ground floor - broke out, a spokesperson for the fire service told the Manchester Evening News .
Four fire engines were in attendance, with police also present. Crews from Wilmslow, Macclesfield and Greater Manchester were deployed.

The spokesperson said: “We were called at 18:21 to Wilmslow Road in Alderley Edge, to a commercial building fire. The fire is in the roof space. Currently, we have one engine from Wilmslow, and one from Macclesfield,
“Two firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus, with one hose reel used. The building was evacuated. It’s a two-storey building with a fire in the roof void in the ground floor ceiling. They are using hose reel jets and a cover hose reel jet.”
At its height, the fire was also being dealt with by two engines from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, the spokesperson added. Those two engines left the scene at 7.30pm.
