Dillian Whyte's tactical tweak to begin the fight as a southpaw has been branded an "obstacle" after he was brutally knocked out by Tyson Fury.
The 'Body Snatcher' was dominated by Fury throughout the contest and was unable to close the gap at any point in the fight despite his tactics. After controlling the exchanges, Fury was able to stop his opponent with a well-timed uppercut in the sixth round to put a swift end to Whyte's long-awaited title challenge.
And boxing trainer Dominic Ingle believes the advice to switch stances put an obstacle between the challenger and a shock victory, and pointed out Fury's prior experience fighting as a southpaw. “He in all probability noticed Tyson Fury coaching southpaw, and he thought, ‘I’ll negate that by going southpaw'," Ingle told Boxing King Media. “That’s not the best way you do it; that’s not what you do.
“You’ve acquired to stay with what you’re good at, and Dillian Whyte just isn’t able to boxing from the southpaw stance. Fury has fought full-fights boxing southpaw. Dillian Whyte hasn’t. It’s by no means going to be a bonus to place your self at an obstacle. So immediately, the alarm bells are ringing. Who’s telling him to try this? What’s going by his thoughts? You’ve acquired to stay with what you’re good at.
“That’s sort of the place the fights are misplaced. If you get into someone’s head a lot that they arrive out with a stance, they’re not acquainted with, not likely snug or good at, you’ve gotten to them immediately. Tyson should have been smiling to himself.
"I assumed Tyson received each spherical. I don’t assume he threw any uppercuts till the uppercut that knocked him out. So, he sort of acquired Dillian snug, tapping him, making him transfer, protecting him lively."

Whyte was unable to close the distance throughout the fight and was on the receiving end of a slick Fury display, despite surprisingly being handed two rounds on one judges' scorecard. The future of the challenger now remains uncertain having ended his long wait empty-handed, and he could now face another overhaul to return to the title picture.
Fury showed respect to Whyte after the fight having pleaded with the refere e to call a close to the contest after being concerned with inflicting damage on his rival. The pair embraced in the ring before Fury basked in his glory, with Whyte clearly dejected after failing to capitalise on his opportunity.
However the leading ranked heavyweight told Whyte that he will become world champion in the future despite defeat. I spoke to him after the fight," Fury said. "I gave him a kiss and a cuddle and told him he will be a world champion one day. People will say Dillian Whyte is s***, please put a pair of gloves on and we'll see if they s*** themselves."
