Dillian Whyte has claimed his fight with Tyson Fury spiralled out of control and led to the "crazy" incident which saw the champion's brother threw water on him.
The 'Body Snatcher' had finally ended a long-wait for a world title shot but failed to capitalise as Fury closed the show with a brutal uppercut just before the midway point. Fury's brother Shane threw water on Whyte during the fourth round of the contest after becoming unhappy with the challenger's tactics.
Whyte has now claimed he felt he was wrongly blamed for several incidents in the fight. " Tyson Fury was dirty with the head, he kept leaning down and put the head in and stuff like that," Whyte told Sky Sports when reflecting on the incidents. "He leans down and obviously he clashed heads with me and I got the cut.
"Then obviously the referee started telling me off and I was like 'what the hell is going on here'. I got headbutted but then the fight spiralled a bit and he started punching me in the back of the head so I started to do it back. Then his corner started throwing water which was a bit crazy.
"I kept on getting all the blame for everything and he was the one that was holding and head-butting and being dirty in the fight. So what am I going to do just stay there and let him do it? I am no-one's punchbag, I am not going to just stay there and let anyone do what they want to me, I have never done that before."
Fury went on to dominate the contest and find his crucial opening with just one second left before the halfway stage. Despite the incidents during the fight, the pair remained amicable and respectful after the stoppage with Fury telling his rival that he would be world champion in the future.

However in the post-fight press conference Fury accused his challenger of "cheating" throughout the fight including the alleged use of forearms and elbows. “He tried to make it rough, fair play to him, he was trying to man handle me in there," Fury said after the fight.
“Have you ever tried to wrestle with a dinosaur? I’m like a T-rex in there. I’m 6ft 9, 270lbs. It’s difficult. He tried hitting me with elbows, head, he tried nutting me, done a Wladimir Klitschko on me. He was trying everything.
"He was using forearms, trying to elbow me. When you try and cheat in a fight, you always come up second best. He went to nut me and got cut. He didn’t fight a world champion tonight, I ain’t no world champion. I’m a legend in this game. You can’t deny it I’m the best heavyweight there’s ever been.”
