Dillian Whyte has branded Tyson Fury “boring” ahead of Saturday night's record-breaking world heavyweight title clash in front of 94,000 people at Wembley.
Whyte refuses to get excited by Fury’s two destruction jobs on Deontay Wilder and insists the unbeaten WBC king is dull. “Fury’s style is boring,” said the Body Snatcher. “Now he’s a bit more exciting and in his last few fights he was able to stay and trade with Wilder.
“But while Wilder is good, he’s not that dangerous and Fury could stay in the pocket and outwork him and outhustle him because all Wilder knows is throwing that big right hand.
“People say ‘ Tyson Fury is the man, he’s beaten up Deontay Wilder three times’. No, he’s not. Come on guys, go back and look. A few fights previous to that, no-one cared about Tyson Fury fights because his fights were boring.” Whyte, 34, believes he can finally fulfil his world title dream against Fury and insists he can “outsmart” him in their all-English clash on St George’s Day, even if some fans would laugh at that.
He claims he has more in his armoury than his feared left hook and says he has the skills to outbox Fury. “I’m prepared if I need to to hunt him down and set traps and try and outsmart him,” said the Brixton fighter. “I know some people may laugh at that, but I haven’t shown half of what I can do because I haven’t had the opportunity because of the fights I’ve had.
“People forget, in the first fight with Alexander Povetkin, I was outboxing him and then I got caught. The second fight I just went in there and got him out, so in the space of four or five months, I showed two completely different styles. I’m very adaptable and there are lots of things I can do if I set my mind to it. If I want to box, I can box. If I want to move, I can move.”

Whyte has promised Fury a rematch if he dethrones him even though he is not contractually obligated to do so because he is the mandatory challenger, but says he would love another tear-up with him. “There’s no rematch clause when you’re the mandatory challenger, but if I win on Saturday and it’s a good fight, I’ll fight him again,” Whyte exaplained. “I’m not someone to run away from fights, I want to fight the best fights. I don’t care what people think or care about me, I just want the best fights and give the fans the best. That’s what I want to do.
“I don’t want to fight someone nobody cares about and then go ‘I made this number of defences of the title’. I want to fight the best guys. I want to fight the best. People say Tyson Fury is the best fighter of all time. Most guys believe that. So why would I not want to fight the best fighter of all time again? For me, that’s amazing. Imagine that. I’m easy if I beat the best of all time.”
Whyte, 34, came from poverty in Jamaica to Brixton as a kid and says becoming Britain’s latest world heavyweight champion would not change him. “I’ll still be the same,” he added. “If I’ve got £100million in the bank or £100, I’ll still be the same, world champion or not world champion, I’ll still be the same guy.”
