As young people across the country finish their exams at the end of the month, a digital and tech apprenticeship provider have announced the opening of apprenticeship positions in Ayrshire, available for immediate start.
QA Scotland is promoting a range of roles - from Customer Service and Legal Cashier to Digital Administration - with salaries of up to £23,000-a-year.
Three positions are available in Ayr and Prestwick with more up for grabs in Irvine, Glasgow and East Kilbride, for those able and willing to travel.
QA Scotland - Scotland’s largest provider of tech, digital and IT apprenticeships - works in partnership with local businesses including Alex Begg - who craft exquisite accessories from the finest cashmere, silk and wool blend yarns at their Ayrshire mill - and Blackhayes Solicitors.
Chris Shekleton, Sales Director, QA Scotland, said no previous experience or relevant qualifications are required as training is provided on the job.
Chris said: “If you are finishing exams now and have not yet decided on your future, or if you are in an interim job, waiting for the right opening, then it may be that an apprenticeship is the way forward.
“And if you think you don’t have any relevant qualifications or experience, that is not a barrier, with an apprenticeship you learn on the job and you earn while you learn.”
David Cunningham, Youth Engagement and Communications Manager at QA Scotland, said: “No matter what your background or qualifications, we are confident we can match you with an apprenticeship scheme that will kick start your future.
“With vacancies available across over 50 employers throughout Scotland, it is aptitude and interests that count, and we will point you in the direction you need.”
Dylan Welsh, from Ayrshire, completed an apprenticeship in Digital Marketing with QA, and now works as a Digital Marketing Co-ordinator for a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and PPC (Pay-Per-Click) agency in Ayr called Big Pond Digital.
He is also an apprenticeship ambassador for the region, who is available to talk to young people about their own journey into the world of work.
Dylan said: “I think when you come out of school and go into Uni, it’s all very self disciplined and intense. But I found that the apprenticeship was a lot more supportive and one-on-one with your trainer, where as you don’t get that as much in Uni.”
