Digger falls off lorry after vehicle hit bridge with busy Scots road closed

A busy Scots road is closed after a digger came off the back of a lorry when it crashed into a bridge.

Police rushed to the A90 in Glencarse, Perth after receiving reports of a collision at roughly 12.35pm today.

A picture from the scene shows a yellow digger on its side in the middle of the dual carriageway with a dump truck next to it. A lorry - which the digger seemingly fell from - can be seen parked at the side of the road further along.

Officers are currently in attendance and the road remains closed, with heavy traffic building in both directions.

According to Traffic Scotland, commuters can expect to face a 35-minute delay westbound and 20-minute delay eastbound.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to a report of a vehicle crashing into a bridge near the A90 in the Glencarse area of Perth around 12.35pm on Tuesday, 28 March, 2023.

“Officers are in attendance and the road is currently closed. There are no reports of any injuries."
