McDonald's has introduced a new McMuffin for the Christmas season.
The fast food chain has heralded the arrival of the 'Mighty McMuffin', which combines two pieces of bacon, one sausage patty, egg, and cheese.
But hang on, couldn't you already get that by adding sausage to a double bacon and egg McMuffin? Yes, you could, kind of, and still can. But there is a slight difference between a customised McMuffin and the new Mighty McMuffin.

What is the difference between a Mighty McMuffin and a McMuffin?
McDonald's breakfast menu allows customers to choose a double bacon (two slices) and egg McMuffin and add sausage. That costs £3.79 ordered from McDonald's in Byker, Newcastle, using the chain's official app. A Mighty McMuffin is also priced at £3.79.
The difference between the two is the Mighty McMuffin comes with sauce.
Nutritional information for the Mighty McMuffin shows it includes either ketchup or brown sauce, along with two slices of bacon, one sausage patty, an egg, and cheese. A double bacon McMuffin with added sausage has the same ingredients other than the choice of sauces.
Customers who prefer to load their breakfast sandwich with more sausage than bacon can order a double sausage and egg McMuffin and then add one slice of bacon. Again, that comes to £3.79 but does not include red or brown sauce as standard.
For a cheaper option, customers can also choose to add sausage to a single bacon McMuffin, or bacon to a single sausage McMuffin, for £3.19. The only difference between that and a Mighty McMuffin is it comes with one slice of bacon instead of two and does not have sauce.
