Dietmar Hamann makes huge Liverpool claim after Arsenal win

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has said this 'may be the best Liverpool team in history' after their 2-0 win at Arsenal in the Premier League.

The Reds took another step forward in the title race on Wednesday night as they beat the Gunners to reduce the points deficit to leaders Manchester City to one.

Jurgen Klopp's side can now overtake City with a a win in the early Saturday kick-off at home to Watford on April 2 after the international break.

It's shaping up to be another dramatic run-in as the two teams push each other to extreme heights once again. But Liverpool have plenty of momentum heading into the final stages of the campaign and it's difficult not to be excited about the side Klopp has built.

And Hamann, who made over 280 appearances for the Reds between 1999 and 2006, has heaped praise on his former club and his German compatriot, saying Klopp has done 'some job'.

Hamann, who also played for City, shared in a tweet: "That might be the best Liverpool team in history. Humble, driven and class in abundance. Kloppo you’ve done some job."

With one trophy already in the bag, the Reds will hope to add further silverware before the season comes to a close in May.

Liverpool will find out their Champions League quarter-final opponents later this week. And they will also have an opportunity to book a spot in a FA Cup semi-final with a win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
