An investigation has been launched after motorists reported problems with their cars after using diesel pumps at a major Asda filling station. A spokesman for the supermarket said they had received a "small number of inquiries" from customers regarding diesel at their Coryton branch in Cardiff just off junction 32 of the M4.
Diesel has now been stopped and will not return until "thorough" testing has been completed. Some customers have reported engines cutting out and not starting after using diesel from the filling station. It is understood that unleaded petrol is not affected.
An Asda spokesman said: “We are currently conducting an investigation into the diesel at our Coryton filling station after we received a small number of inquiries from customers. Diesel is currently unavailable whilst the investigation takes place and will be available as soon as possible following thorough testing." He added: "We apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
