Didier Drogba sends Amad message ahead of Manchester United return

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has sent a classy message to Manchester United loanee Amad after his loan spell with Rangers.

The 19-year-old has been on loan at Ibrox since January and made a goalscoring start to life in the Scottish Premiership but his time with last season's champions hasn't been as successful as he'd have hoped. He scored three goals in 13 appearances for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side as they finished behind rivals Celtic.

He didn't feature at all in their Europa League campaign as the Gers were beaten on penalties in the final by Eintracht Frankfurt but he did play a role in their Scottish Cup triumph over Hearts on Saturday. The Ivorian was replaced in the second-half as they went on to beat Hearts 2-0 after extra time.

On Instagram, Amad posted: "I felt so bad about the loss of my second Europa League final, but today a new page in my career has begun and I thank God for everything… We are the champions."

Prior to his switch, he made one appearance for the Reds in their final Champions League group stage match against Young Boys. Ahead of his return to United following his loan spell, legend Drogba sent a passionate message to his fellow countryman.

He commented: "The future is YOURS @amaddiallo19 keep your head up and trust God." Diallo has three years remaining on his current deal with the Reds.
