Didi Hamann promises to perform live dance routine if Brazil win the World Cup

RTE Sport pundit Didi Hamann has promised to do the Brazilian Pombo dance live on air if the favourites do go on and win the World Cup.

The Pombo dance comes from a group from Rio de Janeiro who performed the dance alongside a song back in 2012.

Encouraged heavily by Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison, the Brazil squad have been breaking out the dance after scoring goals in Qatar.

And they had ample opportunity to do so in their last 16 win over South Korea as they ran out convincing winners on a 4-1 scoreline.

Richarlison bagged a goal for himself and even ran over to his manager Tite to get him in on the dancing act, a move which drew criticism from Roy Keane.

Giving his thoughts post-match on ITV, the Corkman was critical of what he believed to be excessive celebrations from the Brazilian team.

He said: “I don’t mind the first kind of little jig – whatever they’re doing – but they’re still doing it after that, and then the manager getting involved with it.

“I’m not happy with it, I don’t think it’s very good at all.”

But RTE Sport pundit Hamann went a different direction - and even promised to perform the dance live if Brazil were to go on and claim the World Cup for a sixth time.

He said: "If they do win it, I'll do the Pombo after the game.

"I saw a piece on Richarlison who showed it to the real Ronaldo, how it works, so I've had a few lessons.

"If they were to go to the semis or the final I'll be prepared.

But when asked by Joanne Cantwell if there was any chance that the 'real' Ronaldo would show up to join in the performance, the German wasn't convinced.

He answered: "Unlikely."
