Did Usher Delete 7,000 Of His Old Tweets Following The Arrest Of Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs?

CONTENT WARNING: This article discusses alleged sexual assault and sex trafficking.

Pop star Usher has come under the spotlight after almost 7,000 of his old posts from X (formerly Twitter) were wiped from the platform. So did Usher delete a tonne of his old tweets, and what has it got to do with Sean “P Diddy” Combs‘ allegations?

Headlines broke internationally last week when Sean Combs was apprehended by the FBI at a hotel in New York for alleged sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

And now in the wake of the notorious arrest, other celebrities are coming under scrutiny for their apparent connections to the disgraced rapper.

However, given the decades-long scope of the allegations against Combs, and his vast music empire, there are a tonne of high-profile names that can be linked to Diddy for a degree reasons.

Usher under fire for ‘deleting’ Tweets

One of those celebs now facing the heat is Usher, with users of the social media platform X noticing the R&B singer had apparently deleted thousands of tweets from his account on Sunday.

When accounts on the platform started pointing out that Usher’s tweets had disappeared, thousands of users became puzzled by what the apparent mass delete implied.

“Nobody on Usher’s team said: ‘Deleting 7K posts is going to look crazy as hell given the circumstances,'” one user wrote.

“Why would someone high profile do that?” asked another.

Usher himself has not been accused of any crimes, but now his personal relationship with Combs has become the subject of questioning from X users.

As reported by Page Six, the “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” singer had briefly lived with Combs in the 1990s during his early teens.

Recounting his time living with Combs, Usher has said in interviews that there were “very curious things taking place” at the residence, and that there “were always girls around”.

Additionally, during a 2023 lawsuit brought against Combs, Usher was mentioned as one of the witnesses of physical abuse of Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura — Combs’ former girlfriend.

Usher has not made any public comments regarding the arrest of Sean Combs.

Usher explains why his tweets were gone

After hours of his account being entirely cleared, Usher and all his tweets returned to X on Sunday evening (local time).

Addressing why it seemed like he had deleted all of his posts, the musician claimed that he was hacked.

“Account got hacked and damn y’all ran with it!” Usher wrote on X, before writing he would see his fans at a performance that night.

Pink and Megan Fox come under scrutiny

As well as Usher, American musician Alecia Beth Moore, AKA Pink, and actress/model Megan Fox both came under fire for having empty feeds on X.

As users ran rampant with allegations that the two stars had wiped their social media history due to some sort of dubious connection to Combs, others noticed that the timelines weren’t adding up.

Despite reports from major publications saying that Pink’s page had been cleared recently, the “So What” singer’s X/Twitter account was actually cleared months prior, due to the singer copping tonnes of hate mail from trolls.

“I’ve had so many beautiful experiences on Twitter and made so many wonderful connections that I would never have had otherwise,” Pink said in May, per Nine.

“Now it’s just a cesspool of unhappy people that go on there to dump. It’s just not good for your mental health.”

As for Megan Fox, a quick check of her social media history shows that the Transformers actress has not used the platform since 2013.

Additionally, her Instagram has been empty since May of this year, long before Combs’ arrest.

After lengthy investigations, interviews with witnesses and victims, and multiple home raids by authorities, Sean Combs was arrested on September 16 (local time).

In a 14-page-long indictment from a grand jury, Combs was labelled by Assistant US Attorney Emily Johnson as a “serial abuser” and a “serial obstructor”.
