Did Neemias Queta pass Luke Kornet in Boston’s big man depth chart?

The Boston Celtics find themselves in an interesting dilemma as they evaluate the performances of two way center Neemias Queta and veteran big man Luke Kornet in the Celtics’ 2023 preseason slate of games. Kornet is trusted by his teammates but has also looked lackadaisical where aggression was needed, and unfocused at times, missing key plays.

Queta, on the other hand, has been electric with aggressive screens and hustle for boards — but also tends to foul often and has a spotty track record behind him. Which of these two big men is more likely to be on the Celtics’ roster at the end of the NBA’s 2023-24 regular season — Queta or Kornet? Normally such contests are no big deal, but with Boston’s title aspirations and some questionable availability among key frontcourt players, a third big role could be especially important.

The hosts of CLNS Media’s “Garden Report” podcast had an intense debate over who ought to be part of the Celtics’ future this season on a recent episode.

Check it out in the clip embedded above.
