Following divisive and antisemitic posts, Kanye West has left X (formerly Twitter) to round off a strange week where he has never been far from controversy.
The rapper’s wife Bianca Censori appeared nearly nude at the Grammys on February 9, before West said, later in the week, that he has been diagnosed with autism.
In an interview, he also said his new album is on the way, and later posted a series of inflammatory tweets.
“I love Hitler. Now what b****es,” West tweeted. “I’m a Nazi [sic].”

David Schwimmer and Piers Morgan were among those to call on X boss Elon Musk to ban Ye from using his account any further.
It was enough for his posts to be put behind a curtain, where users had to click to say they understood that they could see potentially disturbing posts.
Ye’s account now cannot be seen and previous tweets have disappeared, which fuelled speculation that he might have been kicked off once more.
West was initially suspended in 2021. Mr Musk had let him back on in 2022 after a previous ban but suspended him again after he was seen to have “violated our rule against incitement to violence".
This latest ban seems to have been self imposed, with the rapper announcing on Sunday night that he was off the social media platform.
West might now be gone for good, having previously been banned from Twitter for eight months following aggravating and offensive posts.
He thanked Mr Musk for allowing him back on but disappeared following a series of posts over the weekend, where he claimed to be a Nazi and that he loves Hitler.
Posting during the Super Bowl, he also attacked Taylor Swift and commented on Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance.
West’s final tweet read: “I'm logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board. It was like an Ayahuasca trip.
“Love all of you who gave me your energy and attention. To we connect again. Good afternoon and good night."
