In a twist we truly didn’t see coming, Drake may have just involved himself in the Australian influencer beef between Anna Paul and Mikaela Testa, and this was not on bingo card at all!
The Canadian rapper rocked up to his Brisbane gig on Monday night wearing a T-shirt that’s got everyone talking with the words “It made me feel broke” on the front — sound familiar? If you’ve been keeping up with all the Anna Paul and Mikaela Testa tea, your ears should be pricking up right about now.

For those who’ve been living under a rock, Anna Paul’s been copping flak lately for her claims about growing up “poor” after her former mate Mikaela Testa called bullshit on the whole rags-to-riches story in an explosive TikTok video last month.
“Their dad, making triple the average Australian income per week, had them living in a beautiful house on the water with a built-in pool. I’ve seen the house in person. It’s beautiful. Being upper middle class is not being poor,” Mikaela said in the video.
This prompted Anna to respond to the allegations with her own TikTok video, where she clarified that she wasn’t lying about her financial situation, rather she was explaining how her upbringing made her feel.
“Now, I do not lie about the fact that I grew up broke. When I say I grew up broke, that is my experience,” Anna said.
“That is how I felt when I can hear my parents talking in the kitchen that the budget for the groceries that week is $30. It makes me feel broke when we can’t afford school uniforms. It makes me feel broke when I’m 11, when I’m 10, and all my friends can afford something and my parents can’t. It makes me feel broke when they say, ‘Oh, I don’t know how we’re going to afford rent next week’.”
This part of the video has now been turned into a meme across the internet with the phrase “it makes me feel broke” even being remixed into a song.
Now, Drake’s gone and chucked his two cents in, and honestly, we didn’t see this crossover coming. The back of his shirt even read “Gold Coa$t 2025”, just to make sure we all got the memo (Anna is a Gold Coast resident).

Fans were quick to catch on, with one TikTok user asking, “Who told him about Anna Paul OMG?”
Another chimed in with, “What kind of crossover is this?”

It seems Mikaela noticed Drake’s stunt as well, writing on her Instagram Story, “It looks like @champagnepapi (Drake’s IG handle) has picked his side with this ‘I feel broke’ tee in tonights show in my city LMAO.”

TikToker and Only Fans star Kayla Jade even claims Drake asked her personally about the drama.
“When we went out for dinner with [Drake], one the first things he said to me and Bec [Gorton] was, ‘Who’s side are you on with the Anna Paul drama?’,” Kayla said on TikTok. (Kayla says she’s team Mikaela.)
“He kept saying, ‘It makes me feel broke’ and we were like, ‘Do you know what would be really funny? If you wore that to your concert,’ and he wore it!” explained Kayla.
She added that Drake seemed “genuinely concerned about [Anna’s] birds“.
NGL, this is a plot twist we didn’t see coming.
But don’t be too worried, Drake is far from broke. The rapper has been seen giving out major amounts of cash at his concerts in Australia. A pregnant woman received $30,000 as an incentive to get out of the mosh pit at a Sydney concert and Drake also gave an engaged couple $30,000 to put towards a wedding.
He’s still got a few more shows in Australia before he jets off to New Zealand, honestly props to him for embracing our Aussie culture!
