Did Bears WR DJ Moore actually step out of bounds on potential TD?

Chicago Bears receiver DJ Moore had a career game in Thursday night’s 40-20 victory over the Washington Commanders.

Moore had eight catches for 230 yards — a career-high and second most in franchise history — and three touchdowns. And, believe it or not, he could’ve had one more.

Near the end of the third quarter, the Bears faced second-and-10 from their 37-yard line. Quarterback Justin Fields found Moore for a nice completion, and Moore proceeded to rack up a whole lot of yards after the catch. He had a clear line for the end zone — for what would’ve been his third touchdown at the time — but the refs ruled him out of bounds.

If the refs hadn’t blown the play dead, Moore looked poised to score a 69-yard touchdown. Instead, it went down in the books as a 32-yard catch and run, where Chicago only mounted a field goal.

It left everyone wondering: Did the refs rob Moore of another opportunity to score a touchdown? Moore certainly thinks so.

“That really pissed me off because I was about to score,” Moore told reporters after the game. “I could have had four touchdowns. I mean, the ref’s got to do his job, but at the same time … it is what it is. We got the win, so I’m not too mad on it.”

You be the judge — did Moore manage to stay in bounds?

Moore now has three 100-yard games this season, and it’s clear he’s just getting started.

“You saw his skill and talent out there,” coach Matt Eberflus said after the game. “Just an amazing player.”

While it would’ve been nice for Moore’s stat line to be even more padded — especially for this fantasy owner — the important thing is the Bears got the win.
