Did Amir Khan's wife have an affair with Anthony Joshua?

When Amir Khan steps into the ring to face Kell Brook on Saturday night, his wife Faryal Makhdoom will be one of his loudest supporters.

Khan is taking on bitter rival Kell Brook and the pair will do battle at Manchester's AO Arena in what could be the defining chapter in a rivalry which has steadily bubbled away in recent years.

Even Khan's wife, 30-year-old Faryal Makhdoom, has found herself in the middle of it all, publicly labelling Brook "boring".

It has been quite a journey for Khan and Faryal, who at one point had their own reality TV show, and there have been notable highs and lows.

Indeed, there have been some truly rocky times between the couple.

Tweets from Khan's Twitter account in 2017 claimed that the pair had split, and he accused her of cheating on him with fellow boxer Anthony Joshua.

In a series of posts, Khan wrote: "So me and the wife Faryal have agreed to split. I'm currently in Dubai. Wish her all the best.

"Faryal moved on quick. Always mentioned to me how much she wanted to be with another guy, from all people another boxer @anthonyfjoshua [sic].

"Left my family and friends for this Faryal [sic]. I'm not hurt but another fighter [sic]. I'm making it public. You getting the divorce #Golddigger [sic].

"Mans [sic] like Joshua can have my left overs!"

Faryal fired back: “Accusing other boxers just because your boxing career is finished. Man up Amir.”

She added: "After all these years. I've always defending a cheat, always stuck around for him, always had his back. And I'm called a gold digger?

"LOL! He's given me jack s*** -- I pay house bills and bills for my daughter myself! It's like I'm a single mother while he's out messing around.

"And he has the nerve to blast me like that? The amount of evidence I have on you. It can destroy you. But since I loved you at one point in my life. I'll just let it go.

"I'm not the one who's been in the papers every month with my pants down Cheater!"

Joshua himself waded into the row, appearing to deny any allegations of an affair by posting the video for Shaggy's hit 'It wasn't me', before tweeting: "Bantz aside, I hope you guys can resolve your situation or this is a hack as we have never even met! #ItWasntMe"

Despite the very public spat, it appears the pair have since reconciled, and Faryal will likely be cheering on her husband louder than anyone when he steps into the ring to face Brook on Saturday night.
