Dick Van Dyke, the legendary actor, has made history by being nominated for a Daytime Emmy at the remarkable age of 98. His nomination as a guest performer in a daytime drama series for his role as amnesiac Timothy Robicheaux on Peacock’s 'Days of Our Lives' marks him as the oldest Daytime Emmy nominee. This nomination puts him in competition with Australian actor Guy Pearce from Amazon Freevee’s 'Neighbours'.

Van Dyke, known for his iconic role in the classic comedy series 'The Dick Van Dyke Show,' has previously won four Primetime Emmys, three of which were awarded in the 1960s. His contribution to the entertainment industry has been widely recognized and celebrated over the years.

Another notable nominee is actor-singer Selena Gomez, who has been recognized in the culinary series category for her Food Network special 'Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays.' Additionally, the Food Network’s 'Valerie’s Home Cooking,' hosted by actor Valerie Bertinelli, has also received a nomination in the same category.

In other news, CBS has announced the end of the long-running show 'The Talk' after its upcoming 15th season. The show's hosts, including Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Sheryl Underwood, have been nominated for the daytime talk series host category.

The lead actress nominees for this year's Daytime Emmys include Tamara Braun of 'Days of Our Lives,' Finola Hughes and Cynthia Watros of 'General Hospital,' Katherine Kelly Lang and Annika Noelle of 'The Bold and the Beautiful,' and Michelle Stafford of 'The Young and the Restless.' On the other hand, the lead actor nominees feature Eric Braeden of 'The Young and the Restless,' Scott Clifton, Thorsten Kaye, and John McCook of 'The Bold and the Beautiful,' and Eric Martsolf of 'Days of Our Lives.'

The Daytime Emmys ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 7 in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS. After being postponed last year due to strikes by Hollywood actors and writers, the event is returning to its regular schedule. The hosts and recipients of the Lifetime Achievement award will be announced at a later date.
