Ex-Dublin footballer Diarmuid Connolly reckons that Dublin will kick into gear on Saturday night when they face Armagh.
The six-time All-Ireland winner feels that the Dubs are a 'different animal' in Croke Park for the Allianz League opener.
With Dessie Farrell's side battling to O'Byrne Cup success, and also blooding some potential new stars in the process, Connolly expects a handful of those starlets to be given a chance.
The St Vincent's clubman has backed his former side to hit the ground running at HQ and run out comfortable winners.
“Dessie Farrell has obviously been looking at some new players to come into the team for the league to try to build a squad," he told BoyleSports.
"They probably found one or two in the O’Byrne Cup so lets’ see what they are going to bring to the table. They won the O’Byrne Cup albeit not in the best way; John Small got sent off before the first half and then Cormac Costello went down injured in the second half.
“Armagh had a nice run in the Dr McKenna Cup and were only beaten on penalties in the semi-final. They would love to come down and take a scalp so early on in the year and get their league off to a great start.
“Dublin are a different animal in Croke Park though. We’ve seen them play in county grounds in the O’Byrne Cup and the scorelines have been a bit flattering to the opposition.
"I just see Dublin running out fairly easy winners on Saturday night. I think they will hit the ground running and even beat the handicap of five points handily enough.”
