Diana Taurasi called new WNBA fans ‘sensitive’ for their reaction to her warning to Caitlin Clark

Leave it to Diana Taurasi to be brutally honest about, well, everything. She’s never held back her opinions, no matter the subject—even if it’s about one of her peers.

She certainly didn’t hold back her opinion about Caitlin Clark. She said she’d take Paige Bueckers ahead of her. She also said Clark — and the other rookies, to be fair! — probably won’t have the easiest time adjusting to the WNBA at first.

That’s some tough love from one of the WNBA’s greatest legends. Many people out there took it as her hating on Clark because of the spotlight she’s getting, though.

Taurasi had some choice words for those fans who were up in arms about her warning for Clark and the rest of her peers.

“The new fans are really sensitive these days. You can’t say anything. It’s kind of like when you go to kindergarten to first grade, there’s a learning adjustment. When you go from high school to college, there’s a learning adjustment. I don’t think I said anything that’s factually incorrect. Like anything, greatness is going to translate. And she’s proven that at every level. I don’t see why that’s going to be any different in the WNBA.”

That’s well said from Taurasi. While it might seem like she’s being a bit rough on Clark here, making the WNBA is tough, man. She’s only being honest.

Fans might not take it that way. But that’s not going to stop Taurasi from being Taurasi. We’d better get used to it.
