Diamondbacks Sign OF Carroll to Eight-Year, $111 Million Deal

The Diamondbacks believe they have a star outfielder in the making in 22-year-old Corbin Carroll, and on Saturday, they inked a deal to keep him with the organization for the foreseeable future.

Arizona and Carroll are in agreement on an eight-year contract worth $111 million, according to a report from Steve Gilbert of MLB.com. There is a club option for the 2031 season that would bring the total contract value to $134 million.

Carroll, who was elevated to the major league roster in September last season, accumulated just 104 plate appearances in 32 games for the Diamondbacks. However, the 2019 draft pick impressed in his limited time in the majors a year ago, batting .280 with four home runs and 14 RBI.

Since Carroll played in just 32 games last season, he is still eligible for rookie of the year in the major leagues, and is the odds-on favorite to win the award this upcoming season.

Carroll is one of the top prospects in major league baseball and is now guaranteed to be tied to the Diamondbacks well into his prime, giving Arizona one of the best young outfields in baseball as he teams up with Jake McCarthy and Alek Thomas.
