Devin McCourty might have a sense of how guard Cole Strange is feeling. When the New England Patriots drafted both McCourty and Strange, draft analysts were not impressed with the selection.
I’ll admit: I didn’t grade New England’s selection of Strange favorably.
But McCourty proved the pundits wrong. And he has faith Strange will do the same thing. McCourty tweeted to Strange to share a few words of advice on Friday.
“Doc Strange they said I was a bad draft pick too LOL…welcome to NE you will fit in well with that beard bro lol,” McCourty wrote.
That’s a classic captain move.

Strange, meanwhile, has impressed during his introductory meetings — and after second viewings, many draft pundits are wondering whether they should take back their knee-jerk reactions that the guard was a reach at 29th overall. Maybe the Patriots were right to think he was a fit as a first-rounder.
