Former New England Patriots safety Devin McCourty started the conversation on the hardest players he’s had to tackle over the course of his NFL career.
The conversation started with former Patriots running back Steven Jackson before expanding and leading to Jason McCourty to chime in as well. Jason had a productive career, and it included a stint in New England from 2018-2020. He won a Super Bowl with the organization in the process.
He responded to his brother’s Twitter post, where Devin named off Marshawn Lynch, LeSean McCoy and Jamaal Charles as some of his hardest tackles. That list was an easy co-sign for Jason, who also threw Maurice Jones-Drew and Chris Johnson’s name in there as well.
“Add Jones-Drew to that and I watched Chris Johnson make guys fall in practice when the drill was touch,” Jason tweeted.

One has to wonder what it would have been like to tackle any of the running backs listed. It’s fun to reminisce with the McCourty brothers on the many great players that made an impression on them during their playing days.
