A member of the Devils’ “Woo Crew,” Semaj McLeod, was assaulted by a Rangers fan during Monday’s Game 7 at the Prudential Center, after a goal celebration for New Jersey.
According to a report by The Record, the Devils are still attempting to identify the man who punched McLeod.
The incident was caught on video as the New York fan appeared to punch McLeod in the head, causing the employee to lose his balance. McLeod noted that the Rangers fan punched him twice in a tweet he sent after the assault occurred Monday.
McLeod posted video of the incident asking for people to help identify the man who assaulted him. Along with the video, McLeod posted a zoomed-in picture of the man the Devils are searching for.

This occurred after the Devils scored their third goal of the game in the third period. McLeod was holding a sign to encourage Devils fans to raise their voices and celebrate, something every employee of the “Woo Crew” does.
“We are aware of the incident and there is no tolerance for that behavior at our arena,” a Devils spokesperson told The Record. “We are investigating the incident to identify the suspect.”
New Jersey would go on to win Game 7, 4–0, to advance to the second round of the NHL playoffs.
