Devender Yadav is interim President of Delhi Congress Committee

Devender Yadav appointed as DPCC interim President

New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday appointed party Punjab In-charge Devender Yadav as the interim president of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) with immediate effect.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal in a statement said, “Hon’ble Congress President has appointed Shri Devender Yadav as the interim President of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect”.

“He will continue in his role as AICC In-charge for Punjab,” the statement added.

It may be mentioned that on Sunday, Arvinder Singh Lovely had resigned from the DPCC chief's post citing several reasons including forging an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the Lok Sabha election.

The resignation of Lovely was later accepted by Kharge. (with PTI inputs)
