Devastating images of the M8 show the aftermath of serious crash - including a pram and toys in the debris at the side of the motorway.
A witness from the scene told reported seeing marks on the road that indicated a car may have flipped a number of times.
Police Scotland are allowing traffic to pass on the hard shoulder and will be opening a lane on the M8 near Livingston later on Sunday afternoon.

The aftermath follows an incident that took place earlier today. Police Scotland received the call at around 1pm and mercy crews raced to the scene, Eastbound near Livingston.
Police are still in attendance as the debris from the one car smash is cleared from the road.
A witness from the scene told Edinburgh Live: "You could see the car had flipped several times before coming to a stop on its side.
"You could see a pram and toys laying halfway inside the boot which was crumpled and windows completely smashed."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said : “Officers are currently in attendance at M8 at Junction 2 and Junction 3 after a crash involving one vehicle.
"East and westbound carriageways are currently closed.”
"We received a call at 1.10pm but there are no further details at this time."
