If you're someone that's protective over the way their hair looks, you probably know the feeling of being on the brink of tears when you don't quite get the trim you were hoping for and it seems as though all hope is lost. Even though we all know hair grows back, that doesn't make the initial shock and frustration any less severe.
One woman who now knows that pain all too well has shared her experience in a viral video after she was left "ugly crying" when her hairdresser gave her the "worst haircut of her life", the Daily Star reports. The woman said her trim was supposed to be a treat after getting through a tough exam the day before, but was horrified with the results.

In a TikTok video posted to her @rosaamazapan account, the beauty influencer said: "I never record myself crying because I don't get why people do that and I think it's f***ing weird, but here I am, crying, because I've had the worst f***ing haircut of my f***ing life.
"This is how bad it is. It's so bad. What is this?
"Yesterday I had an exam, and I was like 'reward yourself because you did really well on that exam', and this is my f***ing reward. This is my f***ing reward? How do I fix this? Oh my gosh.
"I take good care of my hair. I'm a good person. Why? Why did this happen? Why did nobody stop her? What is this?
"This is my hair styled. She styled it! I looked at myself in the mirror and I was like holy s**t my self-esteem is about to f***ing plummet. Do you guys see this? Please tell me you see this. What did I do to deserve this?"

The woman then wrote in the caption of her video: "Sorry for the ugly crying and the cussing but mostly sorry for letting you guys see this terrible haircut!"
Commenters on the post were largely sympathetic to the woman's plight, with many of them saying they felt sorry for her alongside encouraging words and the promise that her hair will grow back eventually.
One person wrote: "Nothing is worse than feeling let down when trying to treat yourself and just wanting to feel cute. Your hair is healthy and will grow quick!"
While another said: "Power through sweetie. Just a blimp. You'll look back and laugh, just a little twist in the plot."
And a third added: "Just keep reminding yourself that you did nothing wrong. Someone did this to you. It is not your fault. It's not something you deserve."
Someone also asked what cut the woman had asked for, and she explained in a follow-up video that she had shown her stylist several pictures of women with 90s-style messy layered haircuts, similar to the classic Rachel cut - which was named after Jennifer Aniston's character in Friends - but with a modern twist.
And after seeing the reference images, commenters were baffled as to how the hairdresser could have gotten the style so wrong.
One person stated: "I'm so so sorry. Genuinely don't know how it turned out that bad. You had great reference photos."
As another agreed, adding: "If you're a hairstylist and you don't know how to do something, just say you don't know."
