Devastated pals pay tribute to 'incredible' Scots barber after sudden death

Tributes have been paid to a "fabulous and incredible" Scots barber who died suddenly at the weekend.

Steve McDonald was described as the 'most genuine' man by heartbroken pals after his unexpected death on Saturday morning.

Loved ones said the popular barber, who worked at Mohair Glasgow, would be missed by the world as he was remembered for his talent and kindness.

A statement from Steve's colleagues at Mohair said: "It is with great sadness we regret to inform you that we lost our boy Steve Mcdonald this morning.

"He was a fabulous whirlwind of a man, he was an incredible barber and a great friend.

"He will be forever in our hearts, never forgotten. We are all heartbroken here at Mohair. Our condolences go out to his family, his nearest and dearest and all who knew Steve.

"Rest in peace big man, love you mate."

Following his tragic passing, a fundraiser has been launched to give party animal Steve an 'epic' sendoff he would be proud of.

The initial target of £1,000 has been smashed with donations pouring in as the total has reached over £2,000 in less than one day.

Steve's pals took to social media to pay tribute to him.

Tommie McGuckin said: "Love you forever bro, I'm so sorry man, the fact I’ll never hear you laugh again just isn’t right man x

"I hope you're not suffering anymore man, I'll always remember you Stevie boy."

Gray Crosbie wrote: " Devastated to hear of Steve's passing . He was the sweetest, most genuine guy with the absolute best banter.

"I've been quite open about my struggles around haircuts as a trans person. These pretty much ended the day Steve cut my hair on my first visit to Mohair about four years ago.

Kit Connor added: "Known Steve for years. What an amazing whirlwind of a guy. Devastated to hear of his passing. My heart and condolences to his family and friends."
