A devastated dad tragically took his own life after his landlord informed him that he would be selling his home.
'Much-loved' dad Jonny O'Neill, 41, who had a teenage daughter, had attempted to take his life several times before, an inquest heard on March 31.
On a previous occasion, coroner Angela Brockhurst at Bradford Coroner's Court said that the Huddersfield dad had sent some images to a friend stating that he "was going to meet his dad in heaven but he stepped back and said it was not what he wanted to do".
However, the engineer was heartbroken at his landlord's decision to sell his flat in Lindley were he had been living for 13 years, Yorkshire Live reports.
On November 18, 2021, he could not take any more after suffering from anxiety and depression for a number of years and set about ending his life.
Fortunately, medics were alerted and he was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where every effort was made to save his life.
But he could not be saved and the following day active medical support was withdrawn. His younger sister Joanna Smith said her brother was "a private man who very much kept himself to himself and who was often described as everyone's friend and some of his friends went back 30 years.
"He enjoyed his own company, loved Formula One and Manchester United. He had a very close bond with myself and my mum and my two boys. He enjoyed his job and worked around the clock. He had been there for 14 years and was well-loved and respected."
His ex-wife Sarah Louise Barrett added: "I think first and foremost he would want to be known as a dad. His daughter is very upset. She always thought at some point she would be able to rekindle her relationship with him."
Mrs Brocklehurst said she was satisfied his death met the threshold necessary for a conclusion of suicide. And she encouraged his family - including Joanna and his mother Judith O'Neill as well as Ms Barrett - who all attended the hearing - to remember the happy times when he shone a light into their lives.
She told them: "The difficulties of life thrust upon him brought him to despair. When you remember him think of all the great times you shared and the love that he gave and you gave him."
